Swollen Lymphnode and Sore Scalp??? Can anyone help?

I've had a headache for about 6 days now and I've never had one for that long before. Yesterday I noticed my scalp was extremely sore out of nowhere, and it hurt to brush my hair and put it up for work. Then tonight, on top of the weird sore scalp and headaches, I noticed a weird little painful bump up by the top of my jaw by my ear which my friend says is a swollen lymphnode. I've had allergies most of my life but they have never caused this before so I'm not sure if they're really connected. I live in one of the worst cities for allergies so it wouldn't surprise me. But i wanted to know if this is a medical red flag to see a doctor or should I take some kind of over the counter medication? Please help, serious answers only please.
