Anybody with an Orion XT something?

I am having issues with culmination lately on my xt10 where I set it with the dot looking perfectly in the center of the circle on the mirror looking through the focuser cap with the pinhole in it. After I gently carry it outside and up a hill by my house look around for a few hours and come back in I check it again and it is always off again. I loosen the thin long hand screws then adjust the wider knobs until it is centered then tighten down the long narrow ones again to hold it in place and it always needs to be done again after I carry it around. I am super gentle with it because it cost me a ton of money so I don't think I'm jostling it out of place. Am I doing something wrong?
