Did I make the right choice for my first telescope?

Well, I got my first telescope around May 2, and I haven't been able to look at much, but what I have seen seems pretty good. I am just a little worried that I should have gone with dobsonian instead of a 130ST Equatorial reflector from Orion. Tell me what you think. I obviously can't get a dobsonian at the moment, but please just tell me if I really messed up or if this is a decent scope.
